Important: if an ignition coil killed your module

A shorted ignition coil feeds voltage back into the coil driver circuit inside the PCM and is one of the most common causes of failure on this engine. If that is what happened to yours, all six coils must be replaced at the same time as the module, along with the spark plugs, using OEM parts. Fit a new module to a failed coil and it will fail the same way. The same fault can also leave the alternator unable to charge.

Where the module sits

On the WK2 Grand Cherokee the PCM is in the engine bay on the passenger side. Disconnect the negative battery cable and allow about ten minutes before removing it.
