About the letters at the end of the part number

A weak battery, corroded grounds or a failing Sentry Key signal will all imitate a dead computer. Internal fault codes in the P0601 to P0606 range, or a complete loss of communication with a scan tool, are the clearest evidence the module itself has failed.
