2005 Dodge Magnum 2.7L PCM ECM ECU | Engine Computer Programmed Plug & Play | 04896408AD

Replace your failed engine computer with an OEM 2005 Dodge Magnum 2.7L PCM (also called an ECM or ECU), programmed to your vehicle before it ships.

This module is a direct replacement for units carrying service number 04896408AD, generic number 04606834AC. Every unit is refurbished, bench-tested against OEM specification, and flashed with the latest manufacturer software.

Also replaces: 04606834, 04896234, 04896401, 04896403, 04896406, 04896409, 04896410, 04896413, 04896414, 04896864

Known failure on this platform

The Charger, Challenger and Magnum on the LX platform are known for PCM crank-no-start faults and anti-theft lockout. Capacitor degradation and solder fatigue inside the module drive most internal failures.

Confirm the module is at fault

If the same trouble code returns after you clear it with a scan tool, the module itself is the likely source rather than a sensor or a wiring fault. Internal codes in the P0601 to P0606 range, or a complete loss of communication with a scan tool, are the clearest evidence. A weak battery or a corroded ground can imitate a failed computer, so check those first.

No core charge, and no core to send back

Several suppliers of these modules only activate the lifetime warranty once you post your old unit back to them, and some include a return envelope in the box for exactly that reason. We do not work that way. No core charge, no deposit, nothing to return. Keep your old unit and the warranty starts the day yours ships.

Why these modules must be programmed

These vehicles use the Sentry Key anti-theft system. The engine computer, keys and immobiliser have to be registered to each other or the engine will crank without starting. We programme the module to your VIN before dispatch, so you avoid dealer programming fees.

What you receive

  • Programmed to your VIN before dispatch, so it installs plug and play
  • Bench-tested by our technicians before it leaves us
  • Lifetime warranty for as long as you own the vehicle
  • Free US shipping, typically delivered in 2-4 business days
  • No core charge, no core return required

Fitting it

Disconnect the negative battery cable, allow about ten minutes for a full reset, swap the module, reconnect the battery and start the vehicle.

Common symptoms of a failed PCM

  • Engine cranks but will not start
  • Anti-theft lockout preventing the engine firing
  • Stalling without warning or sluggish running
  • Check engine light that returns immediately after clearing
  • No communication with a scan tool

Before you order

Enter your 17-character VIN at checkout, and read the service number from the label on your existing module if you can. If unsure, call 516-494-7838 and a technician will confirm fitment.
