An optional service for Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles fitted with PATS passive anti-theft. We disable the PATS function inside your replacement engine computer before it ships, so the module will start the vehicle without the immobiliser needing to recognise a coded key.
Who this is for
Most customers do not need this. If your keys are intact and working, we simply programme the module to your VIN and your existing keys continue to work as normal, at no extra cost.
PATS disable is worth adding when:
- Your keys have been lost and you want to avoid a locksmith call-out
- The PATS transceiver ring around the ignition barrel has failed
- The vehicle is used off road, on a farm, or on private land
- You are running an engine swap or a competition vehicle where the factory immobiliser is no longer wired in
What it costs and how long it takes
The service is 135 dollars and adds two business days to the normal turnaround, so expect around four to six business days in total rather than two to four.
How to order it
Add this service to your basket alongside the engine computer you are buying. Enter the same VIN at checkout. We will apply the PATS disable to that module before it ships. This item is a service applied to a module purchased from us and is not sold on its own.
Please read before ordering
Disabling PATS removes the factory immobiliser protection from that module, which means the vehicle can be started without a coded key. Order this only for a vehicle you own or are authorised to work on. It is worth checking with your insurer, since some policies ask that factory anti-theft equipment remains functional.
Not sure whether you need it?
Call 516-494-7838 before ordering. In most cases the answer is that you do not, and we would rather tell you that than sell you something you have no use for.
