Record your strategy code before ordering

Super Duty modules are identified by both the part number and a strategy code, and the strategy code is printed on the PCM connector rather than the module casing. Locate the module, write down both numbers, and check them against this listing. Compare the connectors and mounting points with your existing unit before fitting anything. Most suppliers will not accept a module back once it has been plugged in, so it is worth the extra five minutes.

Confirm the PCM is the fault, not the FICM

On the 6.0L Power Stroke the PCM is the primary computer, but it works alongside the FICM (fuel injection control module) and the glow plug control module. A hard start, a no start, stalling and general driveability faults can come from any of them. PCM failures do happen but they are not especially common, and the symptoms are often intermittent, so diagnose the other systems before replacing this module. If your fault is injector related, you may need the FICM instead. Call us and we will work through it with you.

If your keys are lost, your PATS transceiver ring has failed, or the vehicle runs off road or without the factory immobiliser wired in, we can disable PATS inside this module before it ships. The service is 135 dollars and adds two business days to the turnaround.
